Balestrini: Pico MD

Pico MD
CNC Tenoning, Cutting & Mortising

The Pico/MD is the latest design innovation from Balestrini for the production of kitchen cabinet doors with mortised and tenoned mitered frames. A combination of new features makes operation and set-up fast and simple; and also enables users to manufacture products with mortise and tenon joinery other than 45 degrees, such as table top, window, and mirror frames.
The Pico/MD is fully CNC controlled which allows you to mortise, tenon or miter in any combination, with one machine, one operator.  Infinite adjustments are quick and simple with the CNC.

The new internal stop system is adjustable from 0 to 90 degrees, which allows you to produce frames of various shapes and sizes.  By stopping at the tool, the machining process is referenced from the face, outside edge and end of the workpiece.  This eliminates the need to change the set-up for different lengths, widths, profiles and thickness of rail stock of similar widths.

The CNC operation of the Pico/MD is quick and simple to learn, simple to use, and grants a high degree of accuracy.  The operator can select the type of end machining required such as tenon miter, miter mortise, miter only, or straight tenon only.  Machining time for a door frame is approximately 8-12 seconds which will yield from 60-75 doors per hour, depending on the size of material and specific machining operation selected.
